Lajçak announces a visit to Pristina for the preparation of the new round

The envoy of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, announced a visit to Pristina to prepare the new round of dialogue at the level of chief negotiators.

"After a short stop in Brussels, I will leave for Bled to participate in the Strategic Forum of Bled and to Pristina, to prepare the next meeting of the chief negotiators", said Lajcak, not giving other details about the visit to Pristina.

Meanwhile, the Bled Forum, where Lajçak said he will participate, is held on September 2 and 3.

Lajcak also spoke about his stay in Prague, where he participated in the Globsec security conference. He said that in Prague he held meetings with the new envoy of the United States for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, and with the president of Serbia, Aleksadar Vucic.

"One of the most important moments was the meeting with the US envoy for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, and the reconfirmation of the excellent partnership between the EU and the US. Equally important was my meeting with President Vucic regarding the next steps in the dialogue and the expectations for the next period", Lajcak wrote on his Facebook account. A week ago, the European Union said that it wants to put on the dialogue agenda the question of opening the Ibri bridge for vehicle traffic.

The authorities in Kosovo have opposed such a thing, saying that on the issue of opening the bridge over the Iber, the parties have already reached an agreement years ago.

The international community is opposing the opening of the bridge now, citing security reasons./ Rel
