Kurti warns of quick recognition by Greece

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that Kosovo is close to being recognized by Greece.

In an interview with the Polish media "TVP World", the head of the government said that he is optimistic that his country will eventually manage to convince other non-recognizing countries.

"In recent years, we have been successful in terms of communication and cooperation with the five unrecognized countries out of 27 of the EU. And, we have worked hard diplomatically to bring them closer to the majority. Greece is in the first place which is close to recognition. This is proven by the status of our office in Athens, which was recently established", said Kurti.

Further, the head of the government also spoke about the application process of Kosovo in the EU, where he said that with the European Union, Kosovo has signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement, as he added that the perspective of the Western Balkans, since the Thessaloniki Summit in 2003, has returned in EU politics.
