The Specialized Chambers of Kosovo (DhSK) in The Hague have again detained the former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.
The Specialized Chambers claim that Thaçi's release risks obstructing the judicial process.
This decision was made on May 24, but was only announced today.
"Since the most recent detention decision, there have been no developments that reduce the factors supporting the necessity and reasonableness of detention. Indeed, the ongoing progress of the trial through the testimony of the sixty-fifth (65th) witness and other developments in this case unequivocally confirm the necessity of detention," the decision states, among other things.
We remind you that Thaçi has been in custody in The Hague since November 2020, as he is accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, together with the former head of the PDK, Kadri Veselin, the former member of the General Staff of the KLA , Rexhep Selim and the former spokesman of the KLA, Jakup Krasniqi./ CNA
