Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue/ EU Envoy Sorensen holds meeting in Pristina

The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, today hosted the visit of the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the Pristina-Belgrade Dialogue, His Excellency Peter Sørensen, and the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for Kosovo, His Excellency Aivo Film quarters at KFOR, Head Oravuars in KFOR town.

Today's visit to Kosovo was the second in Mr. Sørensen's mandate; as such, he did not miss the opportunity to exchange views with the KFOR Commander on developments in the security situation throughout the region.

The KFOR Commander underlined KFOR's efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and in support of the EU-facilitated dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, where KFOR and the EU operate in permanent coordination.

General Barduani emphasized KFOR's unwavering commitment to supporting all efforts of the International Community, for the benefit of sustainable security throughout Kosovo and regional stability.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders. /CNA
