Iran-US nuclear talks/ Second round of discussions concludes in Rome

Iran and the US concluded today in Rome the second round of indirect discussions on Tehran's nuclear program.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the talks, which saw Omani mediators relay messages between the two delegations in different rooms, were constructive and would move forward.

He adds that the two sides will hold technical meetings at expert level starting Wednesday to discuss drafting a framework for a possible agreement.

After that, the lead negotiators will hold a third round of talks in Oman to assess the situation on April 26.

Oman's Foreign Ministry says both sides are seeking an agreement that guarantees Iran does not possess nuclear weapons but maintains its ability to develop peaceful nuclear energy./CNA
