Altin Dedej, a citizen from Lushnja, says that in September 2023, the fire burned his business, where there were construction materials and an "Audi" car.

He says he has the film footage, where it appears that the electrical spark caused the fire. For this reason, Altini requests the compensation, which he thinks is due to him.

Altin Dedej: I am Altin Dedej from the village of Dushk in Lushnja. On September 14, a fire broke out and engulfed the warehouse and the garage, as it burned my materials and the "Audi" car.

Journalist: How did the fire start?

Altin Dedej: The fire started from the transformer over there, it made a spark, and at the same time also at the tree here. Then it degraded into fire, which in 7 minutes came and destroyed everything. I had the building materials, which, because they are coated with diesel and oil, gave it more help to burn. The fire came very fast, it was helped by a wind and we could not put it out; neither us nor the firefighters.

Journalist: What happened next?

Altin Dedej: The police came, took a statement, where he suspects where he doesn't. I gave mine no doubt somewhere, then they asked me for the home camera footage. I gave it to them, they didn't find out, they didn't find anything even with those. I also went to OSHEE and showed the footage, the video, and they told me: "It's not clear, you can't define it. It could be 4 meters away, across the tree.”

Journalist: How much damage was caused?

Altin Dedej: Now the damage that has been caused, for me, is too big, now let's leave it in the hands of a specialist to prove it. 10 million lek yes!

Altin Dedej: The car, 10, don't go any further. As long as it is suspected and the cause is found, they should compensate me, nothing more.

Under these conditions, he turned to the Electricity Distribution Operator's Office, where they told him that he should go to court.

Citizen: Now will we reach an agreement? If it is proven that the cause is from the current, what will be done on your part?

Employee: Continues the judicial process.

Citizen: I can't even open the court process, because maybe we come to an agreement together.

Employee: If that is the cause, the trial continues and demands compensation! You will be compensated by OSHEE.

In the letter of the Fier prosecutor's office about this event, it is written that, based on expertise, the cause of the fire could be an electric spark. The Directorate of OSHEE Berat did not accept this conclusion, as according to it, the cables were in order.
