Fire in the Archeological Park/Vëngu: We saved the amphitheater and the basilica

Minister of Defense, Piro Vëngu

The Minister of Defense, Piro Vëngu, has given details about the fire in the Archeological Park of Finiq.

In a statement to the media, Vëngu said that the firefighters have managed to protect the amphitheater and the basilica.

Also, he announced that the spread of all outbreaks in the direction of residential areas has been stopped.

"Since noon, we have had a problematic situation. We are concentrated with FA and fire engines. 8 fire-fighting vehicles, 40 fire-fighting forces, as well as the Armed Forces. 65 FA deployed. The helicopter has made it possible to contain all outbreaks in residential areas.

The ticket office, the access infrastructure has been saved thanks to the Finic firefighting teams. The part of the basilica and the old amphitheater has been saved and protected from the flames. It will be a night of vigilance. We should not leave the areas", emphasized Vëngu./ CNA
