Protest in front of Tirana City Hall

Today's protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana, where hundreds of citizens demanded the resignation of the mayor Erion Veliaj, lasted about 1 hour. 

The protest was peaceful, while the entire town hall building was surrounded by police forces. 

The citizens expressed their determination that they will not give up until Veliaj leaves the municipality and confronts SPAK for the corrupt affairs that have taken place in this institution. 

During the protest, citizens also threw eggs at the municipality as a sign of revolt. 

"Veliaj thief", "Veliaj criminal", "We will expel from the municipality", these were some of the calls of the citizens. 

Also present at the protest were representatives of the Alliance for the Protection of the Theatre, representatives from the opposition, such as Tedi Blushi, Dorian Teliti, Klevis Balliu and Belind Kelliçi. 

They expressed their determination that there will be an escalation of the action, until the departure of Veliaj from the Municipality of Tirana. 

The next protest is expected to take place next Friday, August 16./ CNA
