The revolted citizens throw eggs in the direction of the Tirana Municipality

Hundreds of revolted and angry citizens are today at the protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana and insistently demand the removal of Erion Veliaj.

As a sign of revolt, they also threw eggs in the direction of the building. 

Meanwhile, the entire town hall building is surrounded by police forces. 

So far the protest is peaceful. There are no shortage of calls: "Veliaj thief", "Veliaj criminal". 

Protests are taking place in front of this municipality because of the scandals that happened in this institution, such as the incinerator affair and the "5D" file, where a number of directors were arrested after SPAK investigations. The citizens insistently demand Veliaj's removal from office and his prosecution.  

Even Veliaj himself was questioned by SPAK about the incinerator affair, while the court issued other security measures a few weeks ago, by order of the special prosecutor.

Meanwhile, the investigations about the incinerators continue, the first group has gone to SPAK, there are two more groups. Initially, they were accused of corruption, but now the accused of the structured criminal group for an affair of around 130 million euros, for an incinerator that does not exist, weighs on the persons involved. 

Even in high temperatures, activists for the Protection of the Theater and the opposition do not retreat./CNA
