The situation worsened by floods in the Durrës Region continues, 667

The situation in the Municipality of Durrës remains serious. Due to the overflow of the Erzen River and the increase in the level of the Tonës Canal, damage to the embankment of this river of up to 500 linear meters has been reported.

According to the announcement by the Municipality of Durrës, authorities have been engaged on the ground, providing heavy vehicles, rubber boats, pumps and personnel.

So far, a total of 667 residents have been evacuated in the administrative units of Sukth and Katund të Ri, where around 6,000 hectares of agricultural land have been flooded, while citizens have been accommodated near the Ministry of Interior's Rest House, Cavalicënçe and the "FAFA" Complex.

Meanwhile, 700 food packages have been provided by the State Reserves Directorate, distributed in the affected areas.

Announcement of the Municipality of Durres

In the territory of the Municipality of Durrës, the situation appears to be aggravated, especially after the Erzen River overflowed its bed and the level of the Tonës Canal rose. Damage to the Erzen embankment along about 500 linear meters has been reported, in Katund të Ri and Sukth.

448 operational forces from the Municipality, dependent enterprises, UKD, Municipal Police, State Police, OSHEE, family doctors, State Reserves and Armed Forces have been engaged in the field, which have made heavy vehicles, rubber boats, pumps and personnel available.

So far, a total of 667 residents have been evacuated. In the Sukth Administrative Unit, 336 people have been evacuated, while in Katund i Ri 53 people. Other citizens have been accommodated in Cavalicenza, the Ministry of Interior Rest House and the “FAFA” Complex.

700 food packages have been provided by the State Reserves Directorate, distributed in the affected areas, while humanitarian organizations such as "Qatar Save the Children" and "Fundjava Ndryshe" have expressed their willingness to provide additional assistance.

By 20:00, 2645 houses have been verified and 699 acts of ascertainment have been issued, while the verification process continues. In Katund të Ri and Sukth, about 6000 hectares of agricultural land have been flooded, while in Rrashbull about 400 hectares.
