Rama convenes the Civil Emergencies Committee: People want support, not

Prime Minister Edi Rama has convened the Civil Emergencies Committee to discuss the situation created by the bad weather and intense rainfall that have affected several areas of the country.

During his speech, Rama emphasized that the situation requires patience and responsibility, underlining that natural phenomena are not resolved with protests or slogans. He stated that rivers do not return to their beds and clouds do not disperse through reactions that only increase nervousness in public opinion.

The Prime Minister called for not looking for imaginary culprits at this time, but for supporting real people who are facing the consequences of extreme weather. According to him, citizens need concrete help and solidarity, not slander.

Rama also stressed that this situation has not only affected Albania, but a wider region, including Italy, Greece, Croatia, North Macedonia and Turkey, which are facing the same cold front, rainfall and snowfall.

"I know that the word patience may sound like a ringing in the ears, but what we are experiencing is not just bad weather, rivers do not return to their beds with protests, clouds do not disperse with slogans, these reactions feed nervousness. In a situation like this, imaginary culprits are not sought, but real people need to be supported. People do not need slander, but support.

"This is an event that has not only affected Albania but has affected an entire map from Italy to Greece to Croatia, North Macedonia and Turkey. The same cold, the same rain, the same snow, have created the same situation for people," Rama said./CNA
