Lawyer Adriana Kalaja spoke this evening about the massive floods in the country, while also ironizing Mayor Erion Veliaj, who is in custody at Durrës prison.

Guest on the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, she said that when Veliaj was physically in the Tirana municipality, the capital flooded every 2-3 months, while when he was imprisoned in Durrës, Durrës was flooded along with the prison.

"I remembered all these days, when Erion Veliaj was physically at the head of the Tirana Municipality, Tirana was flooded every 2-3 months. He went to Durrës, now Durrës was flooded along with the prison ," said Kalaja.

The lawyer further said that she appreciates the launch of investigations by the Durrës Prosecutor's Office as it is suspected that the Durrës Hydropower Plant is not functional. 

"I appreciate the initiation of investigations mainly by the Durrës Prosecutor's Office. On April 1, 2025, almost 10 months have passed since I filed a criminal report with SPAK. Within 2025, 90 reports were filed.

"Today at the protest in Durrës, which should have been bigger and more aggressive, about the way people are being robbed and their life's investment is being destroyed, and when a minister or prime minister comes out, they make fun of this disaster. A state of emergency should be declared ," said Kalaja. /CNA
