The European Union Delegation to Albania has reacted to the massive floods in the country. In a reaction on social media, it is stated that the EU delegation is following with concern the situation created by the floods.

It further states that the EU Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (DG ECHO) is in contact with the Albanian authorities and is sharing relevant information and images from the Copernicus satellite.

It is also emphasized that together with the member states, the EU is ready to support the Albanian people in coping with extreme weather conditions, including through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
