Devoll and Dunavec rivers have high flows/ The villages of Orman and Sheqeras in

Socialist Party MP Ilir Pendavinji, together with the Mayor of Maliq, Gëzim Topçiu, and the Chairman of the District Council, Petrika Tollkuçi, have closely inspected the areas affected by the rainfall in the Korça district.

Through a post on social media, Pendavinji writes that the Maliq area has recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the country.

The MP writes that the large flows of the Devoll and Dunavec rivers have caused flooding in the Maliqi plains and in the villages of Orman and Sheqeras.

 

 

" The situation is extremely difficult in the Maliq Municipality as a result of the intense rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Together with the Mayor of Maliq, Mr. Gëzim Topçiu, and the President of the District Council, Mr. Petrika Tollkuçi, we are on the ground to closely follow developments and coordinate the necessary interventions.

According to the Army Meteorological Service, this area has recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the country. The high flows of the Devoll and Dunavec rivers have caused flooding in the Maliqi plains, as well as in the Pheasant Forest area, the Orman village and Sheqeras.

"Civil emergency structures and local government are engaged in the field for continuous monitoring, immediate intervention and minimization of consequences, with full priority on the safety of residents ," Pendavinji writes./CNA
