The situation in the Shkodra Region appears calm, under constant monitoring by Civil Emergency structures.

The hydrometeorological situation in the territory of the Shkodra District appears calm and stabilized, according to the official report dated 09.01.2026 from the municipalities, Civil Protection structures and responsible institutions.

In the Municipality of Shkodra, no Civil Emergency issues are reported. In the Dajç administrative unit, the water level is recorded at 6.20 meters, while in the Old Buna Bridge the water level remains below the critical level without further increase. Even in the Bahçallek Bridge, the level of the Drin River has decreased and is estimated to be below the critical level. In the village of Obot, there continues to be water on the main road, where the Armed Forces with high-pass vehicles are assisting residents in their movement.

In the Municipality of Vau i Dejës, Malësi e Madhe, Pukë and Fushë-Arrëz the situation appears calm, with no rainfall during the night and no reported problems. In Malësi e Madhe, water withdrawal has been identified in the “Rreze e Veshtit” area, Kastrat administrative unit, where work is being done to restore full access.

According to the Lezha Irrigation and Drainage Directorate, the hydropower plants in Vilu and Casi are operating at full capacity, while the embankments, drainage channels and the Shkodra Reservoir dam do not present any problems. The Kir and Gjadër rivers have recorded a significant decrease in flows, helping to stabilize the situation.

The Vau i Dejës Military Unit continues its engagement in the village of Obot with equipment and personnel, while the Shkodra District Prefecture remains on alert and under constant monitoring for any possible development./ CNA
