The General Directorate of Prisons has reacted after the publication of a photo on social networks, which shows the former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri, at the table with Bajri and Balili inside the cell.

The response states that the people in the photo, at the time this photo was taken, were serving the sentence of 'prisoner' status in the IEPP 'Kosova e Lushnje'.

Announcement of the General Directorate of Prisons:

"We would like to inform you that the people in the photo, at the time this photo was taken, were serving the sentence of 'prisoner' status in the IEPP 'Kosova e Lushnje'.

These prisoners were accommodated in the same sector and it is important to emphasize that in this IEP, food is always served in the prisoners' rooms, as there is no special environment (collective canteen) for eating food, but it is consumed only in their rooms.

Regarding the claims of alcoholic beverages, it is evident that there are bottles of water on the table, as well as glasses of soft drinks.

In no case was there a violation, and based on the regulations, the consumption of wine or alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all IEVPs in our country.

The photo in question was part of several photos taken by the staff of the "Kosovo e Lushnje" PEI, during a normal day at the Institution, in accordance with the regulations in force.
