More than 15,000 cannabis plants are destroyed, 1,500 police officers are on the

During one week, 15,395 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants were destroyed in several villages of the municipalities of Shkodër, Vau i Dejës, Malësi e Madhe and Pukë.

Specifically, 13,867 plants were found in Pult, Shosh, Shale and Rrethina, Shkodër; 1145 plants in the villages of Toplan and Vig, Vau i Deja; 133 plants in the village of Kastrat, Malësi e Madhe and 250 plants in Fushë Arrëz, Pukë.  

This was achieved thanks to the finalization of the eleventh phase of the anti-cannabis police mega-operation coded "Clean Alps".

In this operation, 1500 police officers were engaged, who used 5 drones, 330 vehicles and 2 boats, to control the territory.

The work to identify and capture the perpetrators of the cultivation of narcotic plants continues.  

During the previous stages of this mega-operation, a total of 58,184 cannabis sativa seedlings and narcotic plants were destroyed, 4 suspected perpetrators were arrested and 9 others were wanted. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Shkodër, for further investigative actions./CNA.al
