The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announces that no bank account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Albanian diplomatic missions, including Italy, has been blocked and that diplomats abroad have received their salaries on time. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the bank accounts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and any diplomatic representation of the Republic of Albania enjoy diplomatic immunity and thus are inviolable under any circumstances.

"The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs qualifies as untrue and completely abusive the information published on several portals, on the so-called "blocking" of the bank accounts of the MEPJ or the Albanian diplomatic missions, including Italy.

MEPJ informs the public opinion and the media that, based on the Vienna Convention, the bank accounts of MEPJ and any diplomatic mission of the Republic of Albania enjoy diplomatic immunity and thus are inviolable under any circumstances.

Every employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the service abroad, both in Italy and in any other country, has received payment regularly, as well as the one in July, in accordance with the laws and the labor code", the announcement states .

 

A news circulated in the media that the employees of the Albanian diplomatic service in Italy have not yet received last month's salaries. 

According to the Albanian diplomat in Italy, quoted in the media, the delay in payments that should have been made a few days ago is related to the obligations that the Albanian state has towards the Italian investor, Francesco Becchetti, who has won the right to receive a large compensation after winning the Arbitration trial with the Albanian government.
