This Thursday afternoon, in the Catholic Church in Korça, Holy Mass was celebrated in honor of Pope Francis, who has been called by God to enter the eternal light of heaven. After the Mass, a moment of adoration was held, as suggested by the Episcopal Conference of Albania. The faithful gathered together to pray for the soul of Pope Francis and for the Church, in this moment of reflection and thanksgiving for his extraordinary life and service.

Dom Ignacio, in his speech, thanked God for the gift that was Pope Francis, for his humble and dedicated leadership of the Church, even in the last days of his illness.

"Today we pray together for the soul of Pope Francis, whom God has called from this life to receive into the light of heaven. We thank God for the gift of his life that he has sent us. We thank the ministry of Pope Francis for the way he has led our church during this time, even in the last moment of his illness, where until the end he has truly revealed to us the love and mercy of God," said Don Ignacio.

In this new phase for the Church, today's prayers and reflections are a call to continue the path he showed us, with hope and trust in God's guidance.

"We are called to accept this message, this pure and sincere example that he has given us, to continue on our path with an example that he has offered us. For this reason, let us pray today!", said Dom Ignacio.

At the end of today's celebration, Dom Ignacio invited the faithful to continue praying for the soul of Pope Francis and for the Church at this special moment. On Saturday, with the declaration of a day of mourning for the Pope, another holy mass will be held in his honor at the Catholic Church in Korça. The faithful are invited to participate to express their gratitude and prayers for the beloved spiritual leader, who with humility and love served the Church until the end. /CNA
