Yesterday, the Archeological Park of Finiq was engulfed in flames, endangering not only the cultural and archaeological monuments, but also the houses.

Fortunately, during the night it became possible to extinguish the flames.

According to the Ministry of Defense, cultural assets, monuments, basilicas or various objects have been preserved in the Archeological Park of Finic. The burning of houses was also avoided.

Local structures are continuing to monitor the situation, in order to avoid any possibility of reactivation of the outbreaks.

"After an uninterrupted work even at night by the operational forces from the municipalities of Finiq, Delvinë, Himarë, Sarandë, Konispol and Dropull, supported by 75 members of the Armed Forces and the Cougar helicopter, it became possible to extinguish the fires in Finiq and Delvinë.

But the local structures are continuing to monitor the situation, with the aim of avoiding any possibility of reactivating the outbreaks.
