Urban Renaissance 2.0

Former DP MP, Edmond Spaho, in a post on social networks, positively evaluated the Socialist Party's "Urban Renaissance" program.

In his reaction, Spaho writes that the reconstruction of the centers of all cities changed the lives of those who reside in these urban centers.

He also adds that the "Urban Renaissance" program was one of the factors that led to the SP winning the elections over the DP in 2021.

While expressing criticism of the DP leadership, Spaho writes that it does not offer development alternatives and relies only on oppositional rhetoric.

According to him, if this approach continues, the DP will pay a heavy price in future political developments in the country.

Urban Renaissance 2.0

I know that the DP militants will endlessly curse me as if I have sold out to Rama and that I am waiting for him to offer me the next position.

When Urban Renaissance 1.0 began and I was one of the leaders of the DP, I told my colleagues in confidence that this program would significantly harm us politically.

My argument was simple: the vast majority of citizens in the districts rarely get their turn to come to Tirana, let alone further afield.

They live all the time in gloomy cities, without architecture, dilapidated buildings, destroyed streets, the inability for children to find even a small space for themselves or for the citizens themselves to get energy for the next day.

Everything is black like in communism.

They didn't believe me, because they didn't understand that people love change and they love it where they live.

Time proved me right.

The reconstruction of the centers of all cities changed the atmosphere of life of those who live in these urban centers. When in an urban center, which historically has not changed for decades, people appreciate and are grateful for even the smallest change you make for them.

I'll give you an example: Cërriku and Gramshi were among the most suffocating cities I've seen. Their reconstruction changed the face of the cities and the mood of those who live there. But how many "cities" like these two we have all over Albania!

Urban Renaissance was, among others, one of the factors that until 2021 the SP dominated the DP in the elections. I know that the brainless militants and the visionless leadership of the DP, then and now, do not accept it and will curse me as a sellout to Rama.

You fools who lead the DP and whose satisfaction comes only from your militant insults, from the anachronistic stance you hold towards development, from the empty rhetoric that you do not share, from the mythologizing of propaganda against corruption, with the idiotic hope that the paths to power will be opened for you, you must understand that the elections of 2027 and 2029, in the harshest way, will slap you in the face with the reality that you do not want to understand and will show you that I am right in my judgments and you are deeply wrong.

Urban Renaissance 2.0, as well as the fact that you do not offer any development ideas, that you only insult, that you are incapable of representing the interests of citizens, will make you pay a heavy price in future political developments in the country.

But that doesn't matter to you. You just want to remain the only opposition in the country and share some bones with the government.

Run, run to get a tender from the Urban Renaissance 2.0 funds and slander this project like the historical hypocrites that you are. /CNA
