Prime Minister Edi Rama has "opened his heart" to the international community.

In the opening session of the "Global Gateway" forum, he spoke about the current challenges of Europe and major development priorities regarding the failures he had in marriages.

Rama said that he has failed several times in marriage, but after finding the right one, he is happy.

Regarding this, he drew a parallel between his personal life and the relationship between the European Union and Albania, where he underlined that Albania, after failing with marriages in the 'east', will find happiness after marrying the European Union.

"I want to say that this opening that we are seeing thanks to this ever closer relationship with the European Union, is essential not only for the future of the Western Balkans, but also for the European Union itself. I'm sure the same goes for our African friends, the same goes for others, who in this relationship are sure to find many, many reasons to wonder if it's worth it, but on the other hand it's not there is nothing worth more than getting closer and closer to the European Union and for us Albanians, who have experienced a history that has forced us to make a series of unwanted marriages, believe us, this can be marriage the hardest to make, but the only marriage worth seeking. I am telling you from my personal experience. I have had several failures in marriage, but after finding the right one and being happy with it, I always believe that this will happen to Albania and others when they finally marry the European Union. Just think, that we are surrounded by EU borders and our EU neighbors receive 4517 euros per capita from the European Union itself. What we get in E, without B, is only 138 euros per person. It is a very big gap that we fill with love, that we fill with hope, that we fill with ambition, that we fill with very clear ideas that there is nothing better that we can leave behind for our children, but I sincerely hope that what the President of the Commission and this Commission are working hard to do, they will succeed because at the end of the day, our children should inherit not only the testament of love, but also the proof that this marriage is the only one worth having!
