The Minister of Tourism, Mirela Kumbaro, during a communication with journalists about the government's decisions, spoke about the sleeping tax.

Kumbaro said that the government is looking at a reform system related to this tax, which must be paid by hotels and accommodation structures for every tourist.

She emphasized that with the reformation system, the police, local government and Taxes will be more coordinated for the safety of tourists and for the collection of taxes.

"The sleeping tax is a tax that all hotels and accommodation structures must pay to the municipalities, local government units for every tourist who spends a night in the territory of that municipality, in these structures. Here too we are seeing a system of reform , to formalize it, to make it more transparent, to digitize it so that it can be controlled either by the State Police for security reasons, or by local government units to collect this tax, or by Taxes to be coordinated", underlined Kumbaro./ CNA
