A 54-year-old man was arrested by the police after he was caught red-handed transporting 5 foreign nationals who were going to cross the border illegally, against payment.

Thanks to the coded police operation "Midnight 17", the 54-year-old man with the initials KM, a resident of Tirana, was arrested in the act. 

On the road axis "Korçë-Pogradec", in the place called Qafë Plloçë, they made it possible to locate the suspect vehicle.

During the check, 5 illegal immigrants were found in the "Citroen" vehicle, which the 54-year-old man would transport for payment, in order to cross illegally to the EU countries. As material evidence, the vehicle and a mobile device were seized.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Korça General Jurisdiction, for further actions./ CNA
