Mitsotakis "surrenders"/ Accepts aid from Albania

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis seems to have eaten his words and "turned his nose down".

The Greek state has withdrawn from the initial position where it did not accept aid from Albania in relation to the difficult situation that Greece is going through, caused by the fires.

It is reported that more than 60 firefighting units of Maliqi, Korça, Gjirokastra and Dropulli as well as 10 vehicles of the armed forces and the Albanian civil defense system will go to help Greece.

The neighboring state has been under the occupation of fires for some time, thus going through a difficult situation.

All these forces have been on standby throughout today, to cross the border, but a response from the European Civil Protection System said that the EU countries had met the need for ground troops, so there was a some withdrawal of the Albanian fire service.

From the same system, a few hours later, another response was received, informing that our forces will move towards Greece to join the firefighting vehicles and infantry that are participating in extinguishing the fires in Greece./ CNA
