The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, reacted after the injury of the police officer in Himara, Redin Caushaj.
Balla announces that his condition continues to be critical and why there have been signs of improvement.
Among other things, the minister has warned that anyone who dares to raise a hand against a police officer must know well that he is committing a serious crime against the state.
Balla emphasized that he expects from the Vlora Prosecutor's Office a full investigation regarding the incident and the punishment for the perpetrator.
" Since last night, just before midnight, one of the young and dedicated boys of the Himarë Police Station, Redin Çaushaj, is fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit of the Vlorë Hospital.
The doctors and nurses of this hospital have done their best and Rediani's health condition, although it remains serious, is showing improvements and appears to be stabilized in the vital parameters at the moment.
Redin Caushaj holds the position of inspector in the State Police and yesterday, although outside the service hours, he tried to do his duty by intervening to quell a conflict between two citizens, as I was immediately informed last night by the General Director.
In this effort of the police officer, one of the citizens hit him with a cold weapon, seriously injuring him. The author of this crime was arrested today at dawn by our State Police forces and I expect the Vlora Prosecutor's Office to conduct a full, independent investigation and a harsh intervention for the culprit.
