Weather conditions in Vlora and Himara/ Small boats and fishing vessels banned

Due to the deteriorating hydrometeorological conditions predicted for August 21 and 22, in Vlora and Himara, the issuance of departure permits for small vessels and fishing vessels will be prohibited.

Based on the announcement made public this Wednesday, this measure is being taken for safety reasons for boaters and fishermen.

Meanwhile, international maritime transport ships will continue to operate normally according to their respective destinations.

"Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the Bay of Vlora, during the dates 21-22.08.2025 starting at 10:00 on 21.08.2025 in the south-southwest direction at a force of up to 6-7bft with wind speeds of up to 15-20m/s and wave heights from 1.50 to 2.50 meters, we inform you that the issuance of departure permits for small floating and fishing vessels operating inside the Bay of Vlora, Himara and in the open sea is prohibited starting at 10:30 on 21.08.2025.

All drivers of small vessels and fishing vessels operating in and outside the bays of Vlora and Himara should consider hydrometeorological conditions and take measures to ensure their safety.

In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to weather conditions, we request the cooperation of all entities and institutions that operate in the maritime field, to take all necessary measures to secure vessels in the port and increase the readiness of the crew on board vessels.
