Intensive checks from Komani to Ksamil/ 26 vessels blocked

The Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police are continuing to intensively monitor the maritime, lake and river areas, with the aim of increasing security parameters.

From Komani to Ksamil, as a result of the monitoring and inspections carried out during this week, 414 vessels were inspected, of which 26 were blocked for various violations.

Specifically: 16 jet skis, 4 speedboats, 3 dinghies and 3 metal boats with installed water motors.

11 of the vessels were found to be sailing within the security perimeter, endangering the lives of holidaymakers. Their drivers were fined 100,000 lek each.

Also, 28 citizens (Albanian and foreign), as well as 9 vessels, were rescued at sea, thanks to the immediate intervention of the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit, from Ksamil to Koman.

The Border Police appeals for strict compliance with the rules for the use of watercraft:

Do not breach the security perimeter;

Only sail in permitted areas;

Equip yourself with the necessary rescue equipment.
