Crowds heading to Velipoja and Shëngjin/ Vacationers from Kosovo: We left

This weekend is being accompanied by a heavy influx of vehicles on the National Road, from Rreshen to Milot and towards Lezha. The influx of vacationers from Kosovo towards the northern coast has created long queues since the early hours of this Saturday morning.

To travel just 17 kilometers, citizens say they have to wait up to three hours, describing the situation as unacceptable, as the holidays are turning into a nightmare for them. There have been queues both in the direction of Shëngjin and in the direction of Velipoja.

"We left at 6:30 and have not yet arrived in Shëngjin. This situation is not normal."

"We left around 7:30 from Kosovo. I think we'll arrive in Velipojë around 3-4. I think this is not normal."

Heavy traffic has accompanied the Lezha Road since the start of the tourist season, but the situation has worsened even more after the closure of the Milot Bridge at the end of July, due to the damage it has suffered.

Meanwhile, traffic police have been deployed at some of the most problematic points to ease vehicle traffic, but citizens are seeking a long-term solution as the wait has been long./ CNA
