"Fight against Piracy"/ AMA: Increased measures for audiovisual

The Audiovisual Media Authority announced today that an important step has been taken in the fight against piracy.

According to the AMA, this Friday, the amendment to the regulation "On the criteria and procedures for granting authorizations" was approved by unanimous vote, which adds measures for audiovisual entities that sell products without authorization.

Today we have taken a new step in the battle against Piracy.

We unanimously approved the proposed changes to the regulation, "On the criteria and procedures for granting authorizations".

These changes relate to the addition of enforcement measures to comply with the law and the obligation, according to which all audiovisual entities that sell audiovisual products must adhere only to the product for which they are authorized.

This authorization has no relation to access to channels open to citizens.

It is important to understand that the activity that some entities have chosen to engage in, selling free channels along with the product for which they are authorized, is a deviation from the law.

This abuse will not continue!

This measure to reinforce legality is not a ban on technology, but a ban on abuse that has occurred recently, by entities that have offered free channels as part of or in addition to their packages.

From today, all entities will modulate decoders and implement the law.
