Here's when the security measure will be given for the fined journalist

On Monday, the Criminal Chamber of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana will impose a security measure for the journalist who was fined, Elio Lazaj.

According to CNA information, the measure will be determined at the session to be held tomorrow at 9:00. It is learned that the judge in the case is Artan Çupi.

The security measure for Lazaj comes after the latter's sensational arrest, which CNA reported on Thursday afternoon with exclusive details.

Elio Lazaj was arrested during the police operation codenamed "Portal 1" by the Tirana Police, carried out in the office where this journalist was working in flagrante delicto, following investigations against him for extorting money from an official.

CNA also secured exclusive photos from Lazaj's office during the arrest, where an envelope containing large sums of money was also found.

Elio Lazaj is a journalist who has been acting for years through articles and writings that are offensive and threatening to many individuals through his portals and is also known as one of the tools of a businessman who is much talked about for his connections with the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

Lazaj is now facing charges of "Coercion by Threat to Give Up Property", which according to the Criminal Code, Article 109/b, carries a minimum sentence of two to eight years in prison./CNA
