"Of course, this day is not enough, nor is the month of September, which is pediatric cancer awareness month, while we here currently fight every day, every hour with these pathologies."

The most common form is blood cancer, namely acute leukemia. In second place are brain tumors, lymphomas, and the remaining 15% are other tumors.

In some cases, it may be that they are general signs. That is why we say timely assessment; not only to go and present when there are symptoms, but also during routine visits. Those pediatric visits should not be neglected with the idea that we are facing a virus or an infection. Meanwhile, when they come and then present to us, the disease has advanced. In addition to fever, there is pallor, fatigue, a swollen abdomen, we are talking here about an increase in the liver, spleen or lymph nodes.

"There is a good cure rate for pediatric cancer in developed countries, which is 80-85%. While in less developed countries, it can be less than 30% or as high as 40%," the doctor said./CNA
