Tender opened to build the bridge for family members/ GJKKO condemns the former mayor of Tropoja

The Special Court has sentenced the former acting mayor of Tropoja Municipality, Zyra Islamaj, to 2.1 years in prison.

A sentence which Islamaj converted into 2 years of probation.

Islamaj is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions." Meanwhile, builder Rrok Gega has been sentenced to 6 months in prison, a sentence that will be converted into 1 year of probation.

Gega is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".

Islamaj was taken into custody by SPAK in September last year for the tender for the reconstruction and construction of several bridges in the Municipality of Tropoja, one of which, with the intervention of businessman Rrok Gega, would have been personalized over the stream that passes very close to her sister's house. /CNA
