The Ascension of the Lord Christ into Heaven/His Beatitude: By being humble

Today, Orthodox believers celebrate the Ascension of the Lord Christ into heaven. The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, His Beatitude Joan, led the divine liturgy at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

In his speech, His Beatitude said that the ascension of the Lord Christ into heaven is a great hope. Archbishop Joan said that facing difficulties is only possible by understanding the way of the Cross.

Further, His Beatitude called for what the Church constantly recalls, spiritual purification, to be at the right hand of God.

 

" Humility comes as wisdom. Being humble is the possibility for God's grace to come. Today's ascension to heaven is a great hope. God has created man according to the image of God, a little smaller than a divine being. Spiritual life is of another dimension. The Church constantly reminds us to begin spiritual purification, so that when the day comes we will be at the right hand of God. Facing all difficulties is only possible by understanding the way of the Cross. All people will have a cross, but the cross of Christ is different, it is the cross of an innocent one ," His Beatitude said./CNA
