Member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Grigels Muçollari, has stated that transparency, the use of open data and artificial intelligence should be a key part of the functioning of the opposition and the future governing program.

Muçollari emphasized the need to create a platform that gives the public access to data and enables verification of information, considering this as an important instrument for increasing accountability.

He also focused on the public procurement system, stating that there are thousands of procedures marked with "red flags" in the country, which according to him indicate a lack of competition or favoritism in tenders. Muçollari claimed that in some cases the beneficiaries of public contracts are connected to officials or political figures.

In his speech, he criticized the way in which, according to him, artificial intelligence has been used by the government, describing it more as a propaganda tool than a real instrument for improving public services. He also mentioned technology procurement and classified systems.

"A public procurement system that was built more than a decade ago, during the Democratic Party's government, resulted in a very good instrument for limiting corruption and the way public procurement was conducted."

Today, if we enter this system, we notice that there are thousands of public procurements, which are identified with a red flag. What does a red flag mean? It means that either there is a single competitor, which means the criteria have been met only for that competitor, or all other competitors have been excluded.

And in most cases, the companies that have benefited are people connected to MPs, directors, and government officials of this government. Because this is not a one-off case, because it would be too easy to talk about one-off cases, but there are thousands of cases. So it is a very good instrument to reflect this to the public," said Muçollari./ CNA
