The Mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo, stated at the hearing of the Territorial Reform Commission that the expansion of the competencies and territory of municipalities should be accompanied by increased financial support.
Speaking about the needs of local government, Filo emphasized that municipalities cannot efficiently provide public services if they do not have sufficient financial resources.
"There is a need for greater financial support for municipalities. If they are to cover a larger territory, they must be accompanied by greater and adequate financial support. This is a finding that I can make in relation to the portion of services provided by the municipality of Korça," said Filo./ CNA
