The former director of Peqin Prison, Faik Basha, spoke today regarding cases of cell phones being brought into cells.

Invited to A2 CNN, Basha revealed that it has happened that these prohibited items are brought into prison through electronic devices and then, when this device is plugged in, phones are found.

According to Basha, such modifications are only performed by experts in the field, who create spaces within the devices that enable phones to be kept in functional condition until the moment of use.

"I had a case where I received information that phones were inserted through electronic devices and will come in by mail. There is a team that checks all the devices that are inserted. Once a week on Friday at 2:00, we had it, the commission meets, we had an electrician because you need to have an IT specialist, but that as long as it is enough, it is ok and the heads of external and internal services who assist. We checked the devices and left these devices for last and the device was found. It was a Playstation from the old models. It was plugged in, it worked and then the process of opening the inside would be done, it was a little difficult. When the device was opened inside, there were 4 phones, they had gone to an expert of these devices who had created space and opportunities to insert it inside and make it functional", - Basha said. /CNA
