Mustafa Martinaj, the father of Ervis Martinaj, who has been missing since August 2022, was present in the courtroom at the GJKKO today regarding a property case, where he also shared many other details.

Martinaj gave detailed testimony, sharing unknown elements of his private and family life, while also emphasizing the situation he has been in for more than three years.

His father also shared a little about Ervis Martinaj's journey, from starting his studies in economics in Italy, to returning to Albania and starting his first businesses.

Mustafa Martinaj's testimony:

I am an economist by profession. I suffered a very serious accident in the late 90s. I was treated in Rome and after returning to Albania I started working as director of the Judicial Chamber in Laç, Lezhë and Mirdita.

After '97 I started my own business. I started with a chancery and photocopying business, and for 3 years I was involved in money-making. I started working as an exclusive administrator of the UFT in the Laç district. I worked in Mirditë, Mat and Fushë-Krujë, with voluminous work and extraordinary income. We take into account the time, the Kosovo war and the very high remittances. I have been all over Albania, I had exclusivity in 4 districts.

Ervis was in his third year of high school, his sisters were even younger. During this time, my work went very well. UFT is still active today, you can verify it.

In 2007 I worked as an administrator of Union Bank in Laç, but also in banking services. From this activity I had about 60 thousand dollars of income, secondary for me. All my activities, in a very difficult period, Mr. Chairman, have been unfairly attacked. The Savings Bank, which had the main activity, does not exist and there is no document, the other banks mainly as well.

Not even 30% of my activity has been reflected. I have about 3.5 million euros in income, with about 6 million loans; I am able to prove these with bank decisions. A large part has been declared for the UFT company. I bought through the “Arbëria” bank. I have taken bank loans for this work. For each of the cases, the actions are with the bank. I can present you the documents at any time.

My family consists of me, my wife, two daughters, and my late son who is no more. I am ashamed that I come for rags and bricks and have not been called once by you.

Until 2008, none of the children worked, they were in school. Ervis Martinaj was a student in Parma, Italy. He went around 2000-2001 on a scholarship and studied economics. Visi then moved from Italy to Tirana and this coincided with the purchase of an apartment on 'Himë Kolli' street.

Ervis was a good student, but he left his studies halfway through and came to Tirana. Vis was a very hard worker. He didn't do any work in Italy. When he came back from Italy, he asked me for help. I bought two cars, one for the girls and a Visa.

The boy has not caused us any trouble. We have had regular reports. When he was in Italy, he didn't need money, because he had a scholarship.

Visi asked me for help to buy a shared house. I took out a loan of 12,500 euros for the girls, a small Japanese car. I had the keys, a dry hand is not kissable. We are a traditional mountain family. He continued his studies in economics even after he came to Albania, he didn't pass the exams, because he got his diploma. He had opened his own second, they repaired the toys that these people played with horses. You see me here, disabled as I was, I drove alone from Tirana with over 800 thousand dollars in cash, cards and a phone at 12 at night, during the most difficult period, in '99, gangs were on the road. I had a 2400 car, I took it in the trunk, in Rubik and Rrëshen, it was the money from my activity. UFT was a private institution, the Financial Union of Tirana, that's where I received the amounts.
