The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, together with the head of the Albanian Road and Transport Authority, Ami Kozeli, inspected the works carried out on the Milot bridge.

Karakaçi said that today the bridge opens to vehicle traffic.

During his speech, the minister also stopped at the Mati bridge, for which he said there were concerns, but all verifications have been carried out by the ARA and the bridge is safe.

" Today we open this bridge to the circulation of all vehicles. It serves during the tourist season for the Milot-Lezhë road. A road for which we had concerns about the Mati Bridge. The ARA structures have carried out verifications on the ground. The Mati Bridge, all verifications have been carried out, it is safe, it has all the conditions to be fully accessible. At this moment there is no need for intervention ," said Karakaçi.

 

The head of the Albanian Roads and Highways Agency, Ami Kozeli, said that the Milot bridge is part of the bridges selected by the World Bank consultant, adding that this bridge needs an asphalt layer that can be done during the season.

Regarding the Mati Bridge, Kozeli stated that the inspection carried out by the ARRSHH found complete safety conditions.

 

" In the first 11 legs, we also did concreting as an additional stability measure. The weight will be 13 tons per axle. The stability is for a period of 5-7 years. This bridge is part of the bridges selected by the consultant with the World Bank. It needs an asphalt layer that can be done during the season. The group of engineers from the ARRSH has inspected the Mati bridge, we are in complete safety conditions, especially on this bridge, which has 28 meters of foundations. The integrity is complete. The structure of the bridge is compact and does not pose any danger ," said Kozeli.
