Rama's meeting with suppliers/ Klodian Tomorri: Did the government fine oil

Journalist Klodian Tomorri has reacted on social media regarding the meeting that Prime Minister Edi Rama held with oil suppliers.

In his post, Tomorri states that for two weeks the government has stated that the problem with the price of oil is the market, while yesterday in a meeting Rama said that there is no abuse of the price and that traders are honest.

Regarding this "change" in attitude, the journalist raises several questions: "Did the government impose a fine on oil traders? If so, who paid the money and who was the final beneficiary? What is the impact of the fine on the final price of oil? 10 lek per liter, 20 lek?".

Did the government fine oil traders?

For more than 2 weeks, the government's narrative has been that the problem with the price of oil is the market. Government and majority figures have accused one of a cartel, another of the price being set by message, another of traders being kulaks, and then of the market structure being the problem.

They even caught Paulin Gegen and Fridenr Kuqi in violation in Elbasan. "Serious violations," they said.

But today, the government came out and said that there is no abuse in the price of oil and traders are honest.

Now the question is this: Did the government fine the oil traders? If so, who paid the money and who was the ultimate beneficiary?

And the second question is this: What is the impact of the fine on the final price of oil? 10 lek per liter, 20 lek?
