Meloni lowers the price of oil, Rama only talks!

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted to the increase in fuel prices in Albania, comparing the situation in the country with the measures taken by the Italian government.

According to Këlliçi, the government of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has intervened specifically to cope with the price increase, by reducing the fuel excise tax, which is expected to bring a reduction of about 25 cents per liter. He emphasized that such a measure, in Albanian conditions, would translate into about 250 lek per liter less.

The Democratic MP also added that support measures have been taken in Italy for transport and supply companies, in order to curb the increase in food and service prices.

Këlliçi accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of not taking any concrete steps to ease the situation in the country, despite government meetings. He described these as discussions without concrete results.

According to him, the price of oil in Albania has in some cases reached over 2,000 lek per liter, while the government has the opportunity to intervene to mitigate the consequences of the crisis, but is not doing so.

In conclusion, Këlliçi called for civic mobilization against corruption and injustice, inviting citizens to join a protest on March 22, at 6:00 PM.

"The Meloni government took some concrete measures last night regarding the increase in fuel prices. With the reduction in excise duty, oil there will go down by 25 cents per liter. In our conditions, this would be about 250 lek per liter. Also, another concrete measure was the relief and support for Italian transport and supply companies, so that the increase in oil prices does not affect the increase in the price of food or services.

Edi Rama boasts about his relationship with Meloni and publicly describes her as his sister. But when it comes to governing, he is far from her.

The government has met here two or three times but has not taken any action. They have simply talked live on screen for over an hour. But no concrete action.

It has been reported in the media that in some cases, oil in Albania has exceeded 2 thousand lek per liter.

The government has the power to mitigate the consequences of international developments and it has the power to lower the price of oil. But citizens are not a priority. Edi Rama, on the contrary, enjoys this moment because the more citizens pay, the more money goes into his coffers, the amount that he then tenders and distributes at will, to the interests of the influence peddler.

"On March 22, at 6:00 PM, we must unite, fight corruption and injustice," writes Këlliçi./CNA
