Kumbaro: Government approves the creation of the National Agency for Educational

At today's government meeting, the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, announced that the creation of the National Agency for Educational Services has been approved.

Kumbaro stated that this agency is being created to guarantee autonomy and higher standards in the administration of national and international exams.

"Today, the Albanian government approved a draft law that is an important legal and organizational product of the Ministry of Education. With the draft law that we approved today, we create the National Agency for Educational Services. It is about an agency that will have an autonomous status to increase the independence of the agency, for a very important package of services which are partially proposed, guaranteed and offered by an institution that depends on the Ministry of Education and is called the Educational Services Center. It is about all the tests that are held today, the national and international state exams in the territory of Albania, not only in the field of education. It is the same center that also offers the digitalized service for the recognition of diplomas in both directions, both for foreigners who are introduced into our employment system and vice versa. With this law, we increase, first of all, the quality of service, transparency, autonomy to keep this agency away from any kind of influence, even political, to increase meritocracy in all services. It is a "A draft law that will soon be passed in parliament and will take its final form along with the investment, which is foreseen for a building in Kamëz ," said Kumbaro.

Minister Kumbaro, also during today's meeting, announced three decisions of the Council of Ministers regarding the law on science, institutions and the category of salaries and rewards in scientific institutions.

"We have three more council decisions that were approved today in the Council of Ministers, two of which are the legal obligation for the law on science adopted in 2024 and the obligation for the first two chapters of education that will be closed in negotiations with the EU, specifically: Specifically, it is the DCM that has to do with the methodology for evaluating scientific research institutes. Other public agencies will also have the opportunity to open research institutes. The other DCM is the one that defines the category of salaries and rewards according to the category of scientific researcher. The last decision that was approved today has to do with the completion of a standard that has to do with the management of the database of scientific research and national and international exams. It completes a previous decision, but with clear competencies, administratively by the Ministry of Education, the Center for Educational Services and the National Agency for Higher Education", said the minister. /CNA
