The Supreme Court dismisses Beler's request, the elected mayor remains in prison

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed for the second time Fredi Beleri's request for a lighter security measure. With this decision, the elected mayor of Himara will continue to remain in prison, for the charge of buying and selling votes.

Earlier, the Special Courts, at both levels, overturned the demands of the mayor elected on May 14 while he was being held in custody. Beleri was arrested two days before the elections on May 14, where he also won for the Municipality of Himara.

He was imprisoned after being accused of buying and selling votes. 

According to SPAK, his arrest came after a complaint to the prosecutor's office where it was alleged that Beleri offered 40,000 ALL to buy 8 votes.
