The appeal of GJKKO upholds the sentence for Saimir Tahir's former bodyguard

The appeal of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime confirms the sentence for Saimir Tahir's former bodyguard. Hekuran Marku has been sentenced to 13 years in prison, which after a shortened trial will serve 8 years and 8 months in prison. 

Mark was found guilty by the court of "narcotics trafficking" and "structured criminal group".

He was captured by the police in August 2021 in Germany on account of the coded operation "Spirit", from where he was extradited in May 2022.

Apart from Mark, Tahir's other former bodyguard, Agustin Deda, is suspected to be part of the criminal group.

He was arrested in France, where he was then able to receive a more lenient security measure while his extradition request was processed.
