Interior Minister Taulant Balla reacted to the results of the mayoral elections in Kukës.

He said that the SP candidate Albert Halilaj got a historic result that, according to him, clearly speaks of the trust and expectation of Kuksi citizens towards Edi Rama and the SP.

Balla also thanked the police for carrying out the process.

"Congratulations to the newly elected Mayor Albert Halilaj, who as a candidate of the Socialist Party for the Municipality of Kukës received a historic result for our political force in yesterday's elections, which clearly speaks of the trust and expectation of the citizens of Kukës towards Edi Rama and the SP, as also for our great obligation to them, to do much more for Kukës. Congratulations to the CEC and the State Police for organizing and conducting these partial elections according to the best standards, where the residents of this municipality as well as the candidates and their electoral teams deserve credit for conducting a competitive and peaceful election campaign.
