A 53-year-old convicted by the judicial authorities of Italy, with over 5 years of imprisonment, for sexual intercourse with violence was caught in Lushnja.

He was put in handcuffs in the village of Tërbuf, Lushnjë, where Barjam Mehaj, 53 years old, was provisionally arrested, with the aim of extradition.

The 53-year-old man was declared an international wanted man after the Court of Novara, Italy, sentenced him to 5 years and 10 months in prison, for the criminal offense of "Sexual intercourse with violence", provided by the Italian Criminal Code.

Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Italian partners, for the extradition of the BM citizen to Italy./ CNA
