The international news agency " Bloomberg " has discovered the route of two ships that left the Port of Durrës, which allegedly contained 800 tons of toxic waste.

Initially, the containers were loaded on the large ship "Contship Vow" on July 4, in the Port of Durrës, Albania.

This ship landed in Trieste, Italy, and the cargo was loaded onto two other ships, named "Campton" and "Candor", of the "Maersk" company.

This data is revealed on the website of the company "MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA", which tracks the containers.

According to "Bloomberg", the ship "Campton" has 40 containers, while the "Candor" has 60 containers.

Afterwards, the two ships left Italy and had Thailand as their final destination.

At the moment when the ship "Campton" was approaching "Cape Town" of South Africa, the Thai authorities issued an alert about the suspicious cargo.

Immediately after this alarm, on July 31, "Campton" turned off the GPS.

Maersk said the ship was not scheduled to stop in South Africa, but as for GPS, it said it is not unusual for ships to turn off their location transmitter due to safety concerns.

According to "Maersk", the ship is currently in the Indian Ocean and is heading towards Singapore.

"Campton" is expected to stop in Singapore on August 14, while in Laem Chabang port of Thailand on August 20.

On the other hand, the ship "Candor" is expected to go to Singapore on August 22, but there is still no date for the arrival at the final destination./ CNA
