The murder of 42-year-old Egli Progni in Pogradec, which happened on Saturday, August 10, raises many questions, from the assistance given at the scene to the investigations for the persons involved.

It was initially reported in the media that the victim was found collapsed on the street in a drunken state and later died in the hospital from fractures. On the evening of August 10, the Police did not make any official announcement about the event, ignoring it even though it was reported by all the media in the country. 

On Sunday, August 11, the police responded, more than 12 hours late, announcing that the incident had taken place in neighborhood no. 1 Pogradec, "during a conflict for weak motives". According to the police, "Denis Meçe M., 29 years old, allegedly had a physical conflict outside the premises of a bar with the EP citizen, 42 years old, who fell to the ground unconscious during the physical conflict and died as a result".

So the police, not only did not notify in time, but reported it as a physical conflict for weak motives, while the investigations showed that we are dealing with a barbaric violence that resulted in murder. 

Even bystanders at the scene told CNA that the 42-year-old man was brutally raped in the middle of the city and had wounds on his body and broken limbs. The same people said that he was left for more than 30 minutes on the street and no one intervened. Even the ambulance came late. Quick help could probably have saved the 42-year-old's life.  This is where the suspicions of concealment of the event and failure to act in time by the Blues of Pogradec arise. After the police announcement, there was silence again.

24 hours later, on the morning of Monday, August 12, the General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, reacted, who, after suspicions, ordered an inspection at the Local Police Directorate, Korça, regarding the event in the city of Pogradec, where 42 were killed. - the year old. Rrumbullaku ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards to carry out an assessment of the implementation of the duties of the officers of the Pogradec Commissariat regarding the incident. There is still no official announcement of what has been done with the performance evaluations of the officers, even though it has been 4 days since the murder. 

The scandal continues with the change of charges against 28-year-old Denis Meçe 

Në njoftimin e policisë të datës 10 gusht, u theksua se mbi të riun rëndonte vepra penale “Vrasja me dashje”. Ndërkohë për 3 personat e tjerë Voltan Shulku, Arian Manellari dhe Leonidha Guçe rëndojnë akuzat "Moskallzim krimi", dhe "Veprime që pengojnë zbulimin e së vërtetës". Këta të fundit kanë qenë të pranishëm kur ka ndodhur ngjarja dhe nuk kanë kallëzuar krimin duke penguar zbardhjen e së vërtetës.

Por akuza mbi të riun Denis Meçe ka ndryshuar. Prokuroria nuk e akuzon atë për "Vrasja me dashje”, por për "vrasje nga pakujdesia", një vepër penale kjo që parashikon më pak vite burg. 

Gjithçka duket qartë në vendin i sotëm të Gjykatës së Korçës. 

Në seancën e sotme gjyqtarja Luljeta Kole pranoi kërkesën e prokurorisë për masën e sigurisë "arrest në burg" për autorin. Rrjedhimisht edhe akuzën që rëndon mbi të, duke mos kërkuar hetime më të thelluara në lidhje me ngjarjen e rëndë, ku ka dyshime se 42-vjeçari u dhunua qëllimisht në mënyrë barbare nga Meçe, dhe nuk ishte ngjarje nga pakujdesia. 

Gjoba që Egli Progni nuk i pagoi Denis Meçes

Në media është raportuar se Denis Meçe i kishte vënë “gjobë” viktimës, duke i kërkuar atij xhiron ditore të lokalit të tij. Këtu ka lindur edhe përplasja mes tyre, 

Por, viktima refuzoi që t'i jepte para, duke u shprehur se ka për të mbajtur dy fëmijët e tij, dhe në këtë moment është dhunuar rëndë nga Denis Meçe në mënyrë barbare, derisa humbi jetën në spital. Detaj ky shumë i rëndësishëm që është konfirmuar edhe nga afërmi i viktimës për CNA, i cili është shprehur se gjobvënia dyshohet të jetë motivi që ka çuar Denis Meçen të rrahë për vdekje Egli Progën.

Në këtë kronologji të kësaj ngjarje lindin shumë dyshime për mënyrën sesi po hetohet dhe vendimin që mori sot Gjykata e Korçës, e cila la në detyrin paraqitje edhe 3 personat e tjerë për moskallëzim krimi. Këta të fundit edhe pse kishin djeni të ngjarjes së rëndë dhe nuk treguan, qënduan vetën 3 në qeli dhe u lanë të lirë. Mbi ta është vendosur masa "detyrim paraqitje". 

Kjo ngjarje tregon qartazi problemet që ka sot në Shqipëri sistemi i drejtësisë dhe sesa vështirë është të vihet drejtësia dhe autorët marrin dënimin e merituar. Familjarët bëjnë thirrje vetëm për drejtësi. Ata hedhin akuza mbi policinë, prokurorinë, gjykatën dhe shprehen se po mbulohet vrasja makabre në mes të qytetit liqenor./CNA
