The US Chargé d'Affaires, Nancy VanHorn, met this Monday with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, to discuss the advancement of common interests and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

The US Embassy in a post on social networks states that VanHorn expressed gratitude on behalf of the US Government for Albania's steadfast support in regional security initiatives and reaffirmed the strong partnership between the United States and Albania.

Chargé d'affaires Nancy VanHorn met today with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, to discuss advancing common interests and expanding bilateral cooperation. Ms. VanHorn expressed gratitude on behalf of the US Government for the support Albania's steadfast commitment to regional security initiatives and reaffirmed the strong partnership between the United States and Albania," the American embassy in Tirana declared.

On the other hand, Igli Hasani in his social networks emphasizes that he welcomes the cooperation for the advancement and deepening of the unique connection between Albania and the United States.

"Welcome to Albania, Nancy VanHorn!

We look forward to the advancement and deepening of the unique connection between Albania and the United States", writes Hasani.

Nancy Van Horn assumed her new position on August 5, as her first official meeting was held with President Bajram Begaj.

Van Horn replaces David Wisner in this position, who completed his mission in our country. VanHorn is a career diplomat who joined the Foreign Service in 2007 and most recently completed her stint as Spokesperson for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, coordinating messages for more than 40 embassies in Europe./ CNA
