Ashura Day/ Baba Mondi: We pray that humanity finds peace, that wars end

Today, the ceremony of the "Day of Ashura" celebration was held at the World Headquarters of the Bektashi Order.

The Grand Patriarch of the Bektashis, Baba Mondi, expressed his prayer that humanity would find peace, move towards development and democracy, and end wars and conflicts.

"After 10 days of fasting in honor of the 72 martyrs who fell on the walls of Karbala. A special day for all Bektashis. The Prophet tells us that Muharram is a holy month and therefore sin weighs more and good is valued more."

The black day of remembrance of Karbala occurs today to remind us that the efforts for freedom and democracy are still our duty today, and the duty of the leaders who lead the world. We pray that humanity will find peace, move towards development and democracy, and that wars and conflicts will end.

Our eyes should be directed towards praying to God. Praying with fear of punishment is worship of a slave, praying with thanksgiving for blessings is worship of superior and free persons. When you worship for their inhuman actions, it shows that they are under the leadership of the devil”, said Baba Mondi./ CNA
